Ares I rocket will be the rocket used to launch Orion into
orbit in the Constellation space
program, the next major NASA program. Ares rocket is named for the Greek god associated with Mars. It will return humans to the Moon and beyond. including taking humans to the Mars and other destinations. On Oct 8.
2009, a key motor for the Ares I rocket was tested. This ullage settling motor
is a small, solid rocket motor that will provide the forward motion needed to
push fuel to the bottom of the fuel tanks during the launch to orbit of the
Ares I rocket.
Ares I-X launch , a major test of
the rocket, has been re-scheduled for tomorrow, pending weather condition at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
