漢拏山 Mt. Halla (World Heritage)

這座高1950米的漢拏手是南韓最高的山, 夏季是最佳的登山季節, 但能夠於冬季行走於冰上的感覺教我更為刺激及深刻 Though summer is the best season to visit Mt Halla, the highest mountain in South Korea which is 1950m height, walking on the ice in winter time made me more impressive.

Climbing date: 22 Feb 2011
Ship濟州島 Jeju Island
When I took this photo, I can't imagine the whole trail is covererd by snow
There are totally four official trails could access the summit. However, two of them have been closing for over a decade for recovering its ecology
I chose the hardest one - Gwaneumsa trail to climb up
Here is the place for final checking. Food, water, equipment could be supplmented here.
A pair of crampon is a must when hiking in winter
Nice to see the sign to remind you be harmonious with the nature
Interesting to know that in ancient times without fridge, people would use this cave to store the ice
The sign is quite frequent to let you know your position
Gwaneumsa trail (8.6km) would take you 5.5 hours to the summit
In the first 3.2km, it's quite gentle and easy to handle
