Aim
For Singapore's 40th birthday
For a Singapore friend, SH, who wil study in US and left the family @12/08/2005
For having day off together again [actually it should be N O O duty]

Took the 1220 CI665 flight after off duty @7am as L |
|
|
Arrived Singapore and settled after sunset |
|
|
been to Esplanade, wandering from Merlion
to Boat Quay, enjoy live band/ carnival@Marina......waiting
for the countdown party and so sat aside for rest and have some snacks |
|
|
enjoyed midnight fireworks for celebraton of the 40th National
Day |
|
|
backed home late and experienced "red light district"--the place where we lived |
extreme tired~~ |

|
met SH's 17-year-old younger sister @ 0820, then got to Sembawang
Park together |
|
|
joined the church of SH and his family for picnic. Participated in the games for new comers and youngesters, enjoyed the lunch as
well as drama |
So glad to meet a local State RN and shared so much!!!

|
After the picnic, SH brought L+C to Bugis,
had a good time in a cafe, then to Orchid Road
with bookshop, durian stuffs etc....... |

Departed with SH, then L+C moved to Chinatown,
taste Chicken rice and Laksa, YUMMY~~ However, 肉骨茶 was not found throughout the WHOLE town!!! |
So tired that woke up early and backed home late! |

So ironic that there're few food centres offered 肉骨茶 in our
district. However, maybe it's too early to taste, so only the one at the
corner of our hotel, which is 24 hour non stop offers~~ |
Actually 肉骨茶 is rice w/ pork in herbal (?)soup
|

After bunch, back to city hall for the day scenary. |

Later on, moved to Raffles City
and attempt to visit "New Asia Bar" @ 71-2?F of Swiss hotel, what
a pity the bar opens @ 3 pm with admission fee!!! |

Back to Hong Kong by CI 666, a bit frustrate about delay on board... |

So grad we can be there during 40th Anniversary of Independence
It's really funny to see so many young and old groomed in red T-shirt!
As heard from SH, it's becoz the flag of Singapore is red & white
color, also Cherry'd saw an advertisment@ MRT pleading people to do
so~~
Also the fireworks,
street artists & confetti showers@ Waterfront, parade from Padang for
military stuffs.......actually they're not so speical but impressive!

Thanks God for letting us meet a local nurse during the picnic of
SH's church. From her we know more about the current stituation of hospital
and demand for nurses in Singapore......For instance what is state RN
or assistant nurse, management does not mean higher rank etc
Indeed if there's chance, hope can work here~~
There's time for L+C to discuss our plan, our dream for future...so
many things intend to do but we gotta choose! May God bless us

Chicken rice and Laksa are really YUMMY~~~~
Indian tea is recommanded as well~~
And just discover that 肉骨茶 is not A/V in China Town!
Acutally, in my opionion, Chicken rice is the best~~
